Common questions
Answers to what plant managers, engineers and IT teams ask us most.
Getting started
Do I need to buy new machines or sensors?
No. Nisthora reads the PLCs your machines already have, using standard protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, Siemens S7 and EtherNet/IP.
Do we need a developer to set it up?
No. A technician sets up the plant through screens: edge devices, PLCs, machines, lines, shifts, products and alerts.
What hardware does the edge device need?
An industrial PC or a similar small computer on the plant network that can reach your PLCs. One edge device can read many PLCs.
How do operators learn it?
The machine panel uses big buttons and pictures. Operators press Start, press Stop, and tap a picture to say why the machine stopped.
Data and reliability
What happens if the internet goes down?
The edge device keeps reading the machines and stores the data on its own disk. When the connection comes back, it sends everything it missed.
Can a reading be counted twice?
No. Each reading carries its own number, so a reading sent again is recognised and stored only once.
What is a Unified Namespace?
One live, organised address for every reading: company, plant, line, machine, sensor. Your own systems can subscribe to your company's part of it.
How long is history kept?
Readings are kept in a time-series database, with summaries for fast dashboards over days and weeks.
Analytics
How does anomaly detection work?
From day one it compares each reading with the machine's recent range. After about 14 days of history, a machine-learning model learns the machine's normal patterns.
How soon does predictive analysis start?
It needs a few months of a machine's own history before its first forecast, and improves as more history builds up.
What is a fishbone diagram?
A diagram with six bones (People, Machine, Material, Method, Measurement, Environment) for listing every possible cause of a problem before choosing which to investigate.
Does Nisthora manage maintenance jobs?
No. Nisthora tells you which machine needs maintenance in the next 30 days, how many days are left and why, based on its sensor values. Your maintenance team plans and does the work in its own way.
Security and company
Can other companies see our data?
No. Every request is checked against your company, and each edge device and login can only reach its own company's data.
Can a plant head see other plants?
No. A plant head sees only their own plants. Company admins see all of them.
Can it connect to our ERP?
Yes. Nisthora connects to SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, or any system with a REST API.
Who makes Nisthora?
Nisthora is a product of Prishora. You can reach us at info@prishora.com.
